A tibia tumor in an 8 year old boy

This active young man is 8 1/2. Five days ago, he fell, injuring his left leg on a rock. He started having pain. And x-ray was made, and lesion is found in the mid tibia near the site of the pain.

A massively swollen arm with tumors

The patient is 53 and at around age 30, he developed a mass in his left neck. Since then he has had development of innumerable masses in the left arm, the left chest wall, and the left shoulder.

A young gymnast with wrist and hip pain

The patient is a 10-year-old girl who has a history of pain in the right wrist for approximately six weeks. She also notes pain in the left knee. There is no definite history of injury.

A nurse with hip pain

The patient is a generally healthy 38-year-old licensed practice nurse who has had pain in the left hip which began one year ago. The pain is somewhat lessened by wearing compression tights over the area.

A machinist with pain at work

The patient is a 44-year-old machinist who has had pain in the right hip for approximately one year. It is exacerbated by standing, walking and heavy activity, and somewhat relieved by rest.

A smoker with elbow pain

This 67 year old male has pain and a mass in the right dominant elbow. He had a history of smoking for many years. Work-up revealed a lytic lesion in the distal humerus.

51 year old with knee pain

A 51 year old woman presents with left knee pain for 1 year. There has been no previous history of disease, injury, or exposure.

A woman with heel pain and a calcaneal tumor

A 31 year old woman who is overweight, with heel pain, ankle pain, flat feet, and a tumor is presented. She is seeking surgical correction of her flat foot deformity on the side with the tumor.

32 year old man with pain in the knee

A 32 year old man presented with pain in the lateral aspect of his knee for six weeks. He had no history of injury and was otherwise healthy. Radiographs and bone scan are shown at right.

A 73-year-old man with right hip pain and prostate cancer

The patient is a generally active 73-year-old gentleman who is retired. He has prostate cancer that has been well controlled. Now, he has right hip pain and lesions in the acetabulum and proximal femur.

An inherited disorder with bone fragility

The patient is a 35-year-old woman who has pain in the top of the right proximal femur. The patient has a history of an inherited syndrome affecting growth and bone development.

A tumor in the fibula discovered by accident.

The patient is 51 and in generally good health with severe leg pain. He was cutting trees in his yard when a falling limb struck his leg. An abnormality in the left mid distal fibula was noted.

A 42-year-old man with massive swelling in the knee

Patient is a professional chef, and reports pain in the knee for more than 10 years. There is reduced motion accompanied by a palpable vibration in the knee when the patient flexes and extends the joint.
