Erdheim–Chester disease (ECD)

Erdheim–Chester disease (also known as Erdheim–Chester syndrome or polyostotic sclerosing histiocytosis) is a rare disease characterized by the abnormal multiplication of a specific type of white blood cells called histiocytes, or tissue macrophages (technically, this disease is termed a non-Langerhans-cell histiocytosis). Usually, onset is in middle age. The disease involves an infiltration of lipid-laden macrophages, multinucleated giant cells, an inflammatory infiltrate of lymphocytes and histiocytes in the bone marrow, and a generalized sclerosis of the long bones
ECD affects predominantly adults, with a mean age of 53 years

Ewing's Sarcoma

Ewing's sarcoma is a highly malignant tumor that affects mostly children. It is most commonly found femur, tibia and humerus, as well as the pelvis.
People ages 1 to 20 are most commonly affected by this disease; however, a broad range of ages may be affected.
The clinical presentation of Ewing's sarcoma includes pain and swelling of weeks or months duration.X-rays show the appearrance of permeative margins due to presence of the tumor in the Haversian Canals. Ewing's Sarcoma is not always obvious on X-ray and other diagnostic methods may be needed for diagnosis.

El fibrosarcoma es un tumor muy poco frecuente, de células fusiformes malignas que pueden presentarse con diferentes grados de diferenciación. Fibrosarcoma se encuentra más comúnmente alrededor de la rodilla en el fémur distal y la tibia proximal seguidos de la pelvis.
Se presenta en adultos mayores de 30 a 60 años de edad y afecta a hombres y mujeres por igual.
Se presenta como una masa dolorosa, localizada. La imagen radiológica de fibrosarcoma es el de una lesión osteolítica.

Fibrosarcoma is an uncommon, malignant spindle cell neoplasm which can present with different degrees of differentiation. Fibrosarcoma is found most commonly around the knee in the distal femur and proximal tibia followed by the pelvis.
It presents in adults age 30 to 60 years old and affects men and women equally.
It presents as a painful, localized mass. The radiologic picture of fibrosarcoma is that of an osteolytic lesion.
